On September 3, 2019, the stable version of Android 10 was released. It contains features like new permissions to access location in the background, floating setting panel, support for an AV1 video codec, support for biometric authentication, WPA3 Wi-Fi security.

There are various new features added to the Android 10 version. Some features are as follows:
- An improved file app
- Wi-Fi sharing via QR code
- Privacy and security
- Platform
- Live caption
- Smart reply
- Sound Amplifier
- Gesture Navigation
- Dark theme
- Location controls
- Security updates

An improved files app
Google's previous Files app does not contain an on-fillers affair, and it has not a shortcut in the app drawer. However, Android 10 has an improved Files app on a shortcut; it also offers a universal search bar at the top, a reversed UI, and quick access to other apps.
Wi-Fi sharing via QR code
Google adopts a feature to share Wi-Fi credentials via QR code. This functionality has been seen in Huawei and Xiaomi smartphones for a long time. This feature is easy to use; you can tap on the Wi-Fi connection and click on the share button. After that, authenticate Wi-Fi with your phone's password or a fingerprint. You will see a QR code, and your friend's device needs to scan this QR code to achieve access.
Privacy and security
There are lots of significant privacy, and security changes introduced in Android 10. A user is able to restrict an app to access the location when they are active in the foreground. The storage access permission is also changed in Android 10, which is known as "Scoped storage". This permission allows accessing the file of external storage only.
Platform
Android 10 supports a WPA3 encryption protocol technique. This encryption technique provides strong encryption for Wi-Fi. At the same time, Android 10 also supports Dual-SIM dual-standby (DSDS). The first DSDS was initially available on Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
Live caption
With one tap, live caption automatically adds subtitle to podcasts, audio messages, and videos, even things you record yourself. The real-time captions are created using on-device machine learning, and it will arrive when the speech is detected.
Smart reply
In Android 10, you get suggested response and sometimes even more to your message. You may also receive a suggested action for it. For example, if your friend asks for a ride, your phone will recommend you text "". It also displays correct directions in Google Maps.
Sound Amplifier
Using sound amplifier, Android 10 phones filters the background noise, fine-tune to how you hear best. You can listen to more clear to your friends, listening to a lecture, watching TV by plug in your headphones.
Gesture Navigation
Android 10 has gesture navigation, which is more wise and faster than ever. You can move forward and backward, swipe up to view your open apps, and pull up the home screen. All these activities can be performed with super smooth.
Dark theme
The dark theme feature was being requested for a long time. Finally, the dark theme is added to Android 10. This functionality will become active when you enable the battery saver option, or it can be activated through a quick-tile setting. The dark mode also affects the photos, Google podcasts, and search. The dark mode is certainly one of the most famous Android 10 device's features.
Privacy controls
Using Android 10, you can able to control your privacy. That is because you get a new, smarter control using which you can decide when and how data of your device is shared. So, the device does the task, and you will be having rest.
Security updates
An Android phone already receives regular security updates. However, in Android 10, you will receive them even easier and faster with the help of the Google Play system. The updates, privacy fixes, and important security can be directly sent to your phone from Google Play. In the same way, your other apps also get an update.
Focus Mode
Focus Mode is one of the outstanding features that users are facing in Android 10. It is an extension of the Digital Wellbeing suite. As the name indicates, this mode helps you to eject distracting applications by focusing and holding their notifications.
Family Link
You can even guide your children as they play, learn, and explore online. You have to set view app activity, screen time limits, content restrictions, and manage apps. You are also able to see where they are.
